Stare down

Are you afraid of your truth?
God knows, I am.

I am terrified of being locked in a room with myself.
Soul exposed after it erupted from my physical being
Tears being the opened latch.
I cannot stand the thought of my soul staring me down,
Reading to me bits of myself.
Truths I dare not confront.
But the voice from my soul elevates and reverberates,
Bouncing off the walls - the boundaries and limits I set.
It's reading to me stuff that I have dealt with before

Listen, child

Greatness was caged by her.
She did that.
She had a longing within,
A fierceness waiting to be set free
But she fought back that "demon" with it's multiple heads.

Insecurities

She did that to herself
She fought a losing battle against herself and now that she's confronted with the truth
She's blinded by the starry galaxy from pinching her eyes closed tight

Be bright, baby. Be free

And there she lay defeated.
There was no fight within her anymore,
It has been set free.

I lay.
Defeated by my own truth.
