So my first proper working week (as a journo) has officially come and gone.
Like many first-time mothers would say: Nothing could have prepared me for it. Why do I use the first-time mothers phrase? Because in a sense, I have now "birthed" my new career. From here on out it's going to be a mix of first-time everything's. I will now invest time, sweat, tears and (God forbid) blood into this new avenue of my life.
It's been a very challenging first week as I had to get used to a whole new world of things which I had to learn very quickly. Bless the cotton socks and patience of my new colleagues who have been amazing in helping me settle in.
During this first week I have been criticized,if only to help me better myself and taken under the wings of many. Back to school photographs, familiarizing myself with suburbs I have never trod before, deadline day, sleepless nights and getting 1000 likes on a website story has been order of the week. And after doubting myself and wondering if I could actually do this...I LOVED IT! Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than proving myself wrong.
I now know what it feels like to live a dream, to take steps to fulfill a dream and create bigger ones as I go along.
And then there's this...
Eternally grateful!
It's been an amazing week :)
